SWHS Promposals

Prom is often a pretty big night for most that attend, but with prom comes the promposals.

Some might ask someone simply because they need a date, while some ask genuinely wanting to take their certain someone.  Either way, the way they asking is really all it’s about.

“It was pretty stressful, ‘cause I didn’t want to do something super lame, but I also didn’t want to do something totally embarrassing either,” said Michael Anderson, a senior here at Sedro-Woolley High School.  “I decided on a poster, with a Hamilton theme, and then I had a balloon and some flowers, though it was a complete mess,” said Michael, explaining his choice.

While he chose to do it in the front of the school, they seemed to have an audience along with it, “The same time I was doing the whole ‘promposal’ itself, the first Lip-Dub practice was happening right behind us. So it was definitely embarrassing.”

Not everyone sees it as scary.

“It wasn’t anything big,” said Logan Price, showing that not all ‘promposals’ are going to be super over the top like some because not everyone is into fancy posters or Mexican Spiderman costumes. “He just asked and I said yeah.”

Overall, as long as everyone gets a date (even if it might be ‘just as friends’) and everyone has a good time at the main event itself.
