Sedro-Woolley High School Girls Competitive Cheer placed 5th in their division at State, February 8th at Battle Ground High School.
The cheer team placed impressively, considering they not only faced up against other 2A schools, but 1A and 3A schools as well. The team left the high school early in the morning and arrived at Battle Ground High School the same day. This left some time for rest and preparation.
There were some Cheerleaders who felt that this wasn’t beneficial.
“We definitely could have gotten more rest,” said sophomore cheerleader Emily Chavez.
The girls seemed pleased with their improvements from last year. Last year they finished and next year hope to place higher.
“I think we did pretty good, not exactly the place we wanted. But it was definitely better than last year,” said Chavez.
