Pre-Homecoming stress

Homecoming is just around the corner and nobody wants to go around the world all alone. The pressure is on for everyone. Time to get flowers and make signs and get yourself a date, and nobody said it was going to be easy. “Everyone gets nervous.” said Zach Canapo, a freshman at SedroWoolley high school. There is no easy route from one side of the world to the other, but no one wants to go alone. As the week passed on spirit day, after spirit day, more and more people seemed to find themselves a date. From being sung an entire song in the hallway, bright and early in the morning, to the kid who really had guts to lay out in front of the entire school and have his friends hold a sign that said “i’d die to take you to homecoming’, these last couple weeks have been one heck of a ride. Preparing from homecoming is never easy, especially if you’re going all around the world. Stephany Ayala, a freshman at SedroWoolley high school, told us that “ It’s been stressful, from the time I got asked then it was picking out a dress, trying to find shoes to go with it, what to do with your hair, and all the plans I am going to do before the dance.” It definitely puts a little weight on everyone’s shoulders. Dances like these are always super stressful whether you are a freshman, sophomore, junior, and even if you have gone three almost four times as a senior, and think that you’ve got it all down to a tee, that feeling you get way down deep in your stomach when you walk up to who you want to be your date and now it’s time to ask, you just have to do it; it’s better than standing there and then everybody is awkward and everything gets silent. Kaylee Willard, a sophomore at SedroWoolley, that her date did just that he gave her flowers and a volleyball that said ”Bulldogs are strong, Cubs are too, I’d like to go to homecoming with you,” he got straight to the point, even though there was a chance she could have said no. Everybody gets stressed out, nervous, anxious, and excited when dances come around. From dress shopping, tux shopping, and getting everything ready. Nobody wants to go around the world all alone. Willard said “She is excited to get dressed up like a princess, and have fun with her friends.” So let’s all have fun getting all dressed up with our friends. Let’s take this dance all around the world and have fun together.
