Next Stop, Districts

Senior Rafe Holz took home first place in Bellingham last week. Now Holz and the rest of the team prepares for Districts, their last stop before State.

Sedro-Woolley High School’s Cross Country team has done it once again. Senior Rafe Holz managed to take home another first place at Bellingham’s Civic Stadium last Wednesday.
Holz has improved a great deal in only a short amount of time. Last year, as a junior, he placed fifth in the same 5K race.
“It felt pretty good. I’m satisfied with how I did and I look forward to getting better,” said Holz.
As Holz finishes up his last year, the freshmen runners are preparing to take over. Second place at the meet was taken by a freshman from Sehome High School. The next SWHS student to place was Tove Schweizer, who placed 18th.
The team is preparing for districts, which will be on November 1 at South Whidbey High School.
“I’m feeling good about it. It’s our teams shot at state, so hopefully we do well there,” said Holz.
