After a five-year hiatus, Sedro- Woolley High brought back the lip dub this spring and it’s better than ever! Landon Steel, the cameraman, captured the footage as the lip dubbers danced their way through the school, ending at the courtyard for an epic conclusion to the 2024 lip dub.
This year the lib dub included three songs, unlike in years past. The songs presented were “Dance the Night Away” by Dua Lipa, “I’m Just Ken,” sung by Ryan Gosling, and “Shake It Off ” by Taylor Swift.
The event showcased the talent of Sedro-Woolley High School students, with several synchronized dances featuring the likes of Alexia Ceja, Meleny Lamas, Rafael Najera-Diaz, and others. Math teacher Chris Jensen was featured as Ken, Kelly Hawkins as herself, English teacher Charlie Jensen as himself, and Kevin Owen as Ken.
The Sedro- Woolley lip dub couldn’t have been done without the hard work of everybody included, especially Isaac Oporto or Meleny Lamas. Oporto and Lamas were the directors of the whole thing, with Lamas choreographing and writing the entire lip dub while Oporto served as the project lead. The Sedro-Woolley High School community is thrilled to have the lip dub back and can’t wait to see what the school has in store for next year’s event.
