How will the class of 2024 face the next chapter of their lives after graduation? Despite the many challenges this class has faced they have finally made it and are ready to enter into the new world with many more challenges.
“I’m a bit nervous but excited to finally leave school,” said Ashley Cisneros, a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School. Being nervous is a part of the thought of continuing the next chapter of a person’s life. Yet, Cisneros will pursue her dream to become an ultrasound technician. Cisneros said she plans to attend Bellevue College to study and pursue her career.
“I’m really excited to start new opportunities and await the new life ahead of me,” said Emily Guillen, a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School. Guillen will continue her journey to become a sonographer and plans to attend Mount Vernon or Bellingham College.
Ruby Aguirre, a Sedro-Woolley High School senior, is also excited to begin a new chapter and pursue her plans to study psychology. Aguirre said she plans to work during the summer to save money for the other expenses.
“I’m kind of scared to go into the real world because it’s so different and all I’ve done my whole life is go to school with people I know,” said Cynthia Guitron, a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School. Meeting new people can be very scary, yet Guitron will not let that stop her from pursuing her interest in beauty school. Guitron said she will be taking off after graduation and seeing the world before she begins her study.
The advice Cisneros gives to freshmen is to “pay attention and do your work.”
As an 8th grader going into their freshman year, Cisneros said it’s important to do your work and keep up with all your assignments because they reflect on your GPA and grades later on in your junior and senior years.
Guillen agrees. She says to turn everything on time, rather than at the last minute. This benefits students in many ways to not pile everything up once assignments are due.
“I would for sure tell them not to slack and not procrastinate, to make sure they have their work caught up and make sure they’re applying to things, so they don’t have to do it last minute and worry about getting everything in time.”
Aguirre says to freshmen that it is important to get involved as much as you can, so when it comes to your senior year to decide your further plans you can give the universities plenty of information about yourself to look unique.
“If you want to go to a university I would say do sports and volunteer and do things to get involved as much as you can, “ said Aguirre.
Guitron reminds freshmen that although school is important, it’s very important to also have fun along the way because time flies fast during high school.
“Be sure to focus on school, but also have the most fun that you can because there are times when you’re gonna live your life and don’t take advantage of it,” said Guitron.
Thank you to these lovely seniors for sharing their feedback from attending their four years at Sedro-Woolley High School. I hope these ladies achieve their goals and pursue their dream careers.
