Cubs Spirit pushes towards Victory

The morning of Friday’s make or break game against Sammamish High School, the Sedro-Woolley staff and students held a 5:45 AM pep rally recorded live by King 5 news. The matchup between Sammamish and Sedro-Woolley was voted game of the week and had the honor of hosting the King 5 pep rally.

This was the first round of the playoffs for the Cubs. They are looking to do what they did in the 2014 season when they defeated Lynden for the state title.

Friday night the Cubs were seeking another title after falling short just a season ago. With a player like Bryce Hornbeck, someone who can play almost anywhere on the field, the team is never weak. The team is ready to put forth the strongest push they have for another title.

As the game started in the first quarter Sammamish fumbled right off the bat. It looked to be a struggle after that with multiple fumbles come later on in the game.

Sedro’s offense was looking killer with touchdown after touchdown and with Vasquez playing PAT after PAT (Point after touchdown). The Cubs looked like the team that took the title. Offense was clicking and defense was zoned in.
Sedro-Woolley will be advancing on to the next round of the playoffs and will be getting ready for the next matchup a week from today.

It was an amazing performance, not from one player, but from every single player who stepped on the field and with the support of their fans. Can the cubs look to do this again in just a week? We shall wait and see – GO CUBS!
