This year, record after record was broken by our track athletes! Not only school records had been broken but county records as well.
The 4×1 team broke the school and county record, the team consisted of Fairah Lee, Tasia Pinney, lyla Self, and Raven Storie.
The school’s 4×2 relay record was broken by Kiersten Hendricksen, Raven Storie, Lyla Self, and Tasia Pinney. These girls put in the hard work at practice and it paid off.
Last year they broke the 4×2 record for the first time, and this year they came back and just kept breaking more. First they broke the 4×2 school record at the 115th county track & field championships. Then later beat that record at subdistricts.
Track is more than a sport to a lot of our track athletes, it is a community and when they run they are running not just for themselves, but the team.
“Its wanting to perform for my team,” said Raven Storie, who has been a track and field athlete since she was four years old.
Storie also says, “My teammates are my biggest supporters, they just keep me grounded. They keep me in check, when things are getting away from me they remind me I’m good and that i’ve done this before.”
They push each other to do better, and help each other up when they need to.
These girls went to state and got 4th place in the 4×4 and in the 4×1 they placed 4th as well. We are all excited to see how far they will go next year!
