Some Sedro-Woolley High School students struggle to find the means of internet access at home, finds student survey

According to pew research, which surveyed 743 U.S. teens, 17 percent of teens don’t have access to a computer at home. seven percent of U.S. teens don’t have access to the internet at home, and struggle to complete homework because of the lack of high speed internet. Also,13 percent of U.S. teens don’t have a computer at home,
Based on similar survey of 104 Sedro-Woolley High School students, the data shows that seven percent of students don’t have a computer at home, and it also shows that 13 percent of students don’t have a computer at home.
According to Maxxton Walkerling, a sophomore at SWHS, not having internet at home can be a struggle. “It can definitely affect you in a bad way, especially if you take classes that a have a high demand for the internet like computer science or business.”
Some teens are actually choosing to use public wi-fi, or cellular data on their cellphones to do their homework.
According to Ethan Fish, a Sophomore at SWHS, it’s been a struggle not having the internet, specifically in P.E. which has multiple online assignments. “It’s boring to not have internet at home,” said Fish, twiddling his thumbs.
