Sedro-Woolley High School is all about Cub Spirit, and the root of
the Cub Spirit is the Sedro-Woolley High School Band.
The band is one of the best ways to show spirit for Sedro-Woolley High School, but many people don’t know, why they should join the band.
“It’s a good way to getting out of your shell,” says Luke Hegerty, a sophomore
trombone player at SWHS.
Students at SWHS love hearing the band play at sporting events and concerts. Van Malone, a freshman non-band member at SWHS says, “It is a really cool band.”
Students who are in band also love it, “It is a fun place to be,”
says Hegerty
Not only is band a fun extracurricular activity, the band is also an environment where many students find comfort and love.
Erin Pierce, a senior at SWHS and Drum Major as well as playing, the flute, piccolo, and
baritone saxophone in the band, says,“We play lovely music and it is a loving place and kind
environment.”
Not only do the band members know that the band is a good community but spectators can tell that it is too. “It is a good community!” says Malone.
The band is also a great way to make new friends if you feel alone. Logan Roth, a sophomore, percussion and quad drum player says. “Band is a good way to make friends.”
The band also gets to do a lot of fun stuff that all the band members love! Hegerty says, “Being at all the football/basketball games and being on all the trips, is the best part of being in the band.”
